Time Management

Time is your biggest asset.  And may be your biggest headache.  One survey found that 75% of respondents reported being at or near burnout.  Others have found that attrition of associates is rampant.   For many, time management (or lack thereof) may be a big culprit.

We worked with one attorney who complained of working 12 hour days while failing to capture an hour a day of billables.  He was on the verge of leaving.  We helped him cut down to 9 hours with no loss of billables.  He's still with the firm, after over two years.  And happier.

Business Development

As mentioned above, attorneys are leaving their jobs in huge numbers.  One survey found that 50% of solo practitioners had moved on in three years.

Planning and time management probably play a big role in that drop-out rate.  But so also does poor business development.
